Knight is one of the many role-playing subclasses in Elder Tale.

Overview[]

It is one of the oldest subclasses of game, among those who existed since its release.

In Yamato, Knights are an integral part of its society. It's the second-lowest noble title a person can have, just above civilian. Even the children of influential aristocrats often spend time as knights before getting a job as a lord. The nobles aside, they often are high-ranking combatants under the command of an aristocrat.

The existence of real soldiers and armies is extremely rare in Yamato. As long as there are Adventurers as an evil-repellling force, Knights and Mercenaries are the main military for of the People of the Earth. There are Landers that possess this subclass and some of them were important NPCs that left quite a strong impression on the players in the adventures and quests they take part in.

According to the Elder Tale Nobility, an 'Order of Knights' is recognized as an official military force. A city that has such a force is considered a military asset, though the Round Table Alliance clearly stated that Akiba has no such organization. This is not considered by the nobility when they demanded that the Adventurers send out troops to defeat the goblin hordes invading the continent.

The Adventurers' role-playing subclass provides very little combat benefit for those who have it. However, that fact has not decreased its popularity as one of the original and oldest subclasses in the game. Its primary benefits include Knight exclusive quests, a special riding skill, and fancy dedicated equipment.[1]

A detailed article was written about it in the 17th volume of the Theldesia Gazette.
