You probably wouldn't understand how I feel when I see new Adventurers surpassing me one after another...I, who used to be the number one Ancient warrior in our area.
Lelia admonishing Eirenus

Lelia Mofur is a Wolf Fang Monk-Sigilmancer[3] and an Ancient who is said to have co-founded the Knights of Izumo along with her younger sister Litka.

Designed in Elder Tale to help lower-level players and serve as quest-givers, the two have a propensity for getting into trouble.

At the end of Volume 13, she and Litka join Log Horizon.

Appearance[]

Lelia wears a dancer's outfit that shows quite a bit of skin, emphasizing her class' specialty in dodge-tanking. While she is a Wolf Fang, she has Ritian-like markings on her skin thanks to her subclass.

Personality[]

Lelia is serious and miserly, in stark contrast to Litka, and she often worries about Litka's carefree nature. Litka notes that Lelia is scary, and gets even scarier when her eyes darken.

Having been one of the oldest Ancients, she enjoys seeing Adventurers grow and surpass her. She also seems to remember her interactions with Adventurers who have played the game long enough to remember her, having thanked Shiroe for playing with her and her sister in their Underground Empire.

The Mofur sisters both have extremely voracious appetites, being introduced to Touya's Party and then to the rest of Log Horizon by single-handedly eating the vast majority of the food that the former had foraged and Nyanta had prepared respectively.

Synopsis[]

Before the Catastrophe[]

Veteran players know Litka and Lelia as "the useless sisters of Izumo". The sisters were infamous on the Yamato server for an extremely annoying side quest, "Amardole Scale Search". In order to get a certain Secret Treasure class item, Adventurers had to bring them 1,000 Giant Lizard Scales for a prototype, and then 3,000 for the actual item. However, there was a chance that something would go wrong, and the Adventurer would have to collect 3,000 more in order to get the item; Tetora was made to complete this step a total of four times since Litka traded the first 3,000 scales for a jar for the first time, Lelia tripped and threw all 3,000 scales into a furnace the second time, and both sisters had to pay 3,000 scales for Litka's restaurant tab the third time; Tetora has held a grudge against the sisters for years as a result. Among their memories shown, a younger Shiroe, Nyanta, Krusty, and Takayama Misa were also shown to have completed this quest[4]. In the Web Novel, Isaac, Soujiro Seta, Nazuna, and Calasin were also shown to have interacted with them before they got phased out of the game[5].

As the level cap got progressively raised with new expansions, the Mofur sisters, who were set to be level 65 at a time when the level cap was 50, were increasingly outclassed by Adventurers, and appeared less and less in the game, but could still be found and interacted with in a cave they called "the Underground Empire".

After being phased out of Elder Tale content entirely, this translated in the world of Theldesia as the two falling into a deep slumber and the entrance to their cave being sealed. They would not reawaken until the Catastrophe strikes, disrupting the Underground Empire.

Nightingale's Song arc[]

They would remain in the Underground Empire for roughly a year after the Catastrophe. When the Genius of Disappointment Eirenus invades the Underground Empire, all the monsters therein side with it, as it is a Raid boss. The Mofur sisters are thus forced to flee to Akiba to warn the city's Adventurers of the impending danger.

Less than ten days after they flee the Underground Empire, they are discovered sleeping on the road by the junior members of Log Horizon, who decide to leave them alone due to their relatively high level. After they follow them back to Akiba, Minori notices them, and realizes that they are Ancients to boot; she then invites to Log Horizon's guild house for dinner, where Shiroe, Nyanta and Tetora are all shocked to see them for the first time in many years.

When Eirenus arrives in Akiba and creates a dungeon based on the city, the Mofur sisters are sucked into this space along with all the city's Adventurers. They are chased by monsters until they come across Shiroe, Nyanta, Naotsugu and Tetora, who, along with Rieze and several members of Silver Sword, save them, despite having had their levels reduced to 35 by Eirenus' abuse of the Teacher System. When Shiroe realizes that the Mofur sisters are still at level 65, he entrusts them with information on the enemies and tells them to deliver this intel to Minori in Log Horizon's guild house, along with the message to target the enemy boss in the Akiba Guild Hall.

After meeting with Minori, Touya, Rundelhaus Code, Isuzu and Akatsuki, they make it to the Guild Hall and rendezvous with the junior members of the Crescent Moon Alliance, whereupon they form the Akiba Guild Hall Raid Party under Minori's leadership. They reach Luquenjé Hall, where Eirenus meets them, and Lelia plays a big role in rallying the teenaged members of the raid party when Eirenus attacks their memories of their revered ones. Lelia exposes Eirenus' second form, a Genius of Reverence, by delivering a solid kick to Eirenus' chest, and eventually the raid succeeds.

After the conclusion of the raid, the raid party returns to a normal, restored Akiba, and Shiroe formally welcomes the Mofur sisters into Log Horizon, much to Tetora's dismay.

Equipment[]

In battle, Lelia uses metal leg bracers as her weapon and her combat style revolves around the Kicker build.[3]

Trivia[]

  • Lelia and Litka's designs were first revealed on the cover for the short story "Refraction, or Maybe a Barbecue at Log Horizon", written for the Re:Fraction gallery event.
